Short-Term Forecast

Late Sunday and into Monday, snow levels will be at 3000 to 4000', so we are expecting light snow over this period.

Late Tuesday and into Wednesday, the main part of the storm track will be to our south. So dry and sunny conditions start later on Tuesday. The good news it will remain cold with daytime temperatures remaining at or below freezing.

We continue to see favorable conditions in the extended outlook.

Snow and Weather Summary

  • Sunday afternoon to Monday: 1 to 3" slightly higher at Crystal

  • Tuesday: Brief morning showers with maybe a trace of snow

  • Wednesday: Low clouds early, then sunny

Slopes: Elevation General Guidelines

  • Lower Slopes - Under 4000'

  • Mid-Slopes - 4000 to 5500'

  • Upper-Slopes - Above 5500'

Extended Outlook: Thurs. Feb. 12 to Sat. Feb. 14 and beyond

Early Thursday will remain dry, then later Thursday and into Saturday, a trough of low pressure will move in. This will bring colder air into our region for Friday and Saturday.

Expect some snow; however, we are not expecting heavy snow at this point.

Good news:

The ridge of high pressure that was bringing warm, dry weather moves to the east.

The extended outlook to Feb. 21 continues with below normal temperatures and above normal precipitation. One can easily question the accuracy of looking at the weather beyond 10 days. However, forecast models have been very consistent with the cooler pattern for the West Coast.

Next update Thursday, Feb. 12.
