Hello Skiers, and Snowboarders,

Short-Term Forecast

On Monday and Tuesday mornings, Washington resorts can expect dry, mild conditions. Late Tuesday and into Wednesday, a weak weather system will move in for light precipitation. The upper slopes of White Pass and Crystal could see 1 to 2". The map reflects conditions that you would also see at Crystal Mt and White Pass at 4000'.

Make sure to check out our extended outlook to see expected weekend ski conditions across the region.

Snow and Weather Summary

  •  Monday: Mostly sunny and mild

  • Tuesday: Increasing clouds for the day and rain in the afternoon

  • Wednesday: Light rain and 1 to 2" snow at the upper-slopes

Slopes: Elevation General Guidelines

  • Lower Slopes - Under 4000'

  • Mid-Slopes - 4000 to 5500'

  • Upper-Slopes - Above 5500'

Extended Outlook: Thursday 4-23 to Sunday 4-26

Starting late on Thursday and continuing through the weekend (4-25 and 4-26), a ridge of high pressure builds. With this pattern, White Pass, Crystal Mountain, Timberline, and Blackcomb can expect sunny and mild conditions. The second map reflects that Mammoth might have some very light snowfall.

➡️ Who's open: List with links where to keep skiing and riding.

I’d like you to meet Emma Detrick. A Snoqualmie Pass skier, raised in Jackson Hole, with a sharp eye for weather and conditions. She’s got a great feel for what’s happening on the hill and where to go next.

I'm Emma,

Since The Summit is put to bed for the season, I'm looking up and down the coast for some turns.

After this week's strange flirtation with winter, we have returned to spring again, just with a little extra boost of snow across the west. I hear that Mammoth Mountain is doing what it does best: offering at least a month more of sunny cruising. I'm eyeing it for early May...see you there? Along with Mammoth, Timberline is looking at daily operations through Memorial Day, before it cuts down to summer ops, more limited this year due to the low winter. Palmer, we weep for you.

In the opposite cardinal direction, Lake Louise is chugging' along, open daily until May 3. Blackcomb is projecting a closing day of May 18. Little visit to our northern neighbors never hurt no one, eh?

Closer to the Seattle area, White Pass and Crystal Mountain are winding down with closing weekend shenanigans next Saturday/Sunday, April 25 and 26. The riveting Yeti Hunt is on at White Pass, a 26/27 season pass as a bounty! Crystal's running the MRBBBS. Oh, you don't know the MRBBBS? No, it's not a new strain of measles, just the Mt. Rainier Berm Brawl Banked Slalom! This course for speedy snowboarders slashing slush was previously known as Verde Valle. Come on out and ride, watch, dance, and soak in the rays. Just don't skip the sunscreen, ya rascal!

Personally, I'd love to see some crazy dress-up on the hill. Heck, even just a silly shirt. We must display our gratitude to Ullr for spring snow, and Ullr loves fun costumes - take my word for it.

Lastly, just a kind reminder to keep your eye on the avalanche forecast if you're going out in the backcountry to earn your turns; sun doesn't always mean safe! Make that NWAC forecast your daily read, travel with a buddy, and live to ride another day!
