Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Larry texted me this morning about the snow in Portillo.
Ski Portillo in Chile is having a winter! They're reporting 20 cm in the last 24 hours, 79 cm in the last 7 days and 898 cm this season. That's almost 30 feet of snow.
Road currently closed but apparently, it's been good. From their social, the Lake Run opened recently, Portillo has been posting about fresh tracks, and there's more snow in the forecast.
Some of my Alpental friends are on their way there!
From Sue and Lloyd this morning:
"Just got to Santiago. Yes, road closed but resort open. Checking on helicopters!!!!!! Kind of wait and see at this point. We head to Portillo Saturday. Hope road opens 🙏 Fun trip so far😁"
