Feb 15- Cold temps and some snow for the PNW

  • 3 min read

Hello Skiers and Snowboarders,

Short-Term Forecast

Monday through Wednesday, we are expecting cold conditions with snow levels close to 2000' and perhaps slightly lower at times. Light snow will move into the area on Monday afternoon and continue through Wednesday. Inland areas such as 49 Degrees North and Silver Mt (see map) will also benefit from snowfall by Tuesday morning.

For the most part, we are expecting 1 to 2" daily on Monday through Wednesday. One model shows 4" for Snoqualmie Pass on Tuesday, which would be great if that forecast verifies.

We are expecting cold starts to the day, with some models showing even colder than indicated on our second map for Stampede Pass.

Snow and Weather Summary

  • Monday: 1 to 2"

  • Tuesday: 1 to 2"

  • Wednesday: 1 to 2"

Slopes: Elevation General Guidelines

  • Lower Slopes - Under 4000'

  • Mid-Slopes - 4000 to 5500'

  • Upper-Slopes - Above 5500'

Extended Outlook: Thurs. Feb 18 to Sat. Feb 21

It will remain cold, and forecast models differ greatly on snow chances. This is highlighted on the map. The European model indicates no snow for Friday; however, the US model is showing snow.

Next update: Thursday Feb 21, with what we trust will be some happy news.
