Hello Skiers and Snowboarders,

Short-Term Forecast

Sunday through Wednesday, we continue with the upper-level ridge of high pressure. This ridge has been in place for the last week and has blocked any weather systems from coming into our region to bring us snow.

The good news is that this ridge of high pressure will be replaced by Thursday with an area of low pressure. We can expect some snow, and the extended outlook addresses this.

Snow and Weather Summary

  • Monday: Dry! Cold start to the day with warmer temperatures in the afternoon, especially on the upper slopes, and sunny

  • Tuesday: No changes are expected

  • Wednesday: Continued dry with a cold start to the day, with warmer temperatures in the afternoon, especially on the upper slopes and sunny

Extended Outlook: Thurs. Jan 22 to Sat. Jan. 24

Starting on Thursday, we will have a shift in the weather as the ridge of high pressure that has been dominating our region shifts out of our region. This was bringing dry conditions and snow levels at 10,000'. Replacing the ridge will be a trough of low pressure that will drag much colder air in from the northeast. By Saturday, snow levels drop to 1000 to 2000'.

We will get some snow, but really too far off in the extended forecast to accurately predict amounts. The good news is the ridge has finally shifted out of our region. We will update you on the snowfall prediction with our next update on Thursday, Jan. 22.
