Hello skiers and snowboarders,
Rain on Monday with some snow for Mt. Baker. We will have a big warm-up on Tuesday and Wednesday, reflected in the graph below. The one wildcard on the forecast is that the air mass is somewhat unstable on Tuesday, so there is a slight chance of a brief thundershower. However, there is a better chance of isolated thundershowers on Wednesday. With the high snow levels on Tuesday and Wednesday, we are not expecting snow.
On Thursday a trough of low pressure will be off our coast and cooler air will move into our region. This, along with the lower snow levels, will bring some snow - especially for the mid to upper-slopes.
HIGHLIGHTS
Monday - 1 to 3" mainly for Baker and for mid to upper slopes
Tuesday - Chance of light rain
Wednesday - Chance of rain and thundershowers
Thursday - 3 to 5" snow
Slopes - Elevation General Guidelines
Lower Slopes - Under 4000'
Mid-Slopes - 4000 to 5500'
Upper-Slopes - Above 5500'
The graph below is the temperature profile of Stampede Pass at 4000' SE of Snoqualmie Pass.

Extended Outlook: March 28 to March 31
All forecast models indicate an active storm track over our region, and this will bring us precipitation over this period. The map below highlights above-normal precipitation. Regarding temperatures, one model suggests temperatures near normal. However, I think temperatures over this period will be below normal.
That would bring additional snow at 4000' at times for March 28 and 29th. We will update this on Thursday.
The map below is precipitation for the period March 28 to April 1.
