Good News - Bad News AR is on it's way.

Hello skiers and snowboarders,

Memories of a Perfect Powder Day from Benj W.
Memories of a Perfect Powder Day from Benj W.

The good news is that we are expecting some light snow for the mid and upper slopes for Friday and early Saturday. The first map reflects this. For Saturday afternoon through Monday, we can expect some heavy rain at times especially for the lower and mid slopes. We are also expecting windy conditions for later Saturday and into Monday.

Best to get out Friday and early Saturday before heavy rains come.

We are expecting a strong southerly flow to bring warm and moist air into the region for much of this weekend. This is an Atmospheric River (AR) (in the past called a pineapple express). An AR is a narrow plume of concentrated moisture (see second map below) that brings heavy rainfall and increasing snow levels to the Northwest. Some areas will get 5 inches of water equivalent over the weekend but much less for inland areas like 49 Degrees North and Silver Mt.

HIGHLIGHTS

❄️Friday - 1 to 2" snow north of Stevens Pass

❄️Saturday - 1 to 2" snow for the mid and upper slopes in the AM

Sunday - Rain except upper slopes

Monday - Rain except upper slopes

Extended Outlook: Feb 25 to Feb 28

We are expecting a mild and dry pattern starting on Wednesday and continuing through Friday. The graph is at 4000' SE of Snoqualmie Pass. This is an extended outlook, which can certainly change so please check back with us this coming Sunday to see if we will have spring-like ski conditions later next week.
